Alan Boyce, CEO
Alan is founder and president of Adecoagro (AGRO on the NYSE), a $1.5 billion food and renewable energy–producing company that owns and operates highly productive farmland land throughout Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay. In this capacity he led the financing and development of a 100 mw biomass electricity project in Brazil associated with Greenfield sugarcane ethanol facilities. He is also VP of Boyce Land Co, which owns and has operated farms in California, Indiana, Texas and North Carolina since 1986. Alan was formerly the director of special situations at Soros Fund Management (SFM), where he managed a portfolio of assets of the Quantum Fund and had principal operational responsibilities for the bulk of the fund's investments in South America. In this role, he also led the development of Southern Light and Gas, a public utility roll-up vehicle. Alan received his BA from Pomona College and his MBA from Stanford University.
John Morris, COO
John is the founder and former CIO of Electranet Capital- an investment fund focused on opportunities arising in renewable energy, energy efficiency, energy storage, and electric infrastructure. He was formerly the Vice President of Money Management Group where he led the development of the fund's energy trading desk. John was also the Director of PG&E's Western Electricity Trading Team where he was responsible for electricity asset hedging and proprietary trading across 13 western states, Western Canada and Mexico. In this capacity, he successfully structured and managed complex physical and financial electricity, natural gas, coal, emissions and weather derivative transactions. As a 15 year veteran electricity market specialist, John possesses an expert-level knowledge of US deregulated electricity markets rules, logistics and pricing mechanisms. John received his BA from Colgate University and a medical post-baccalaureate from Harvard University. He also competes regularly in endurance athletic events.
Mike Bowler, SVP Development
Mike is a co-founder of SunLink where he served as VP and co-developer of the SunLink Module Mounting System (patent pending) resulting in more than 180 MW of SunLink installations. For Perpetual Power, Mike lead development of the 1 MW Limoneira Solar Orchard, the first PV Generator to win LEED Gold certification. He has hands-on design and field experience in all aspects of photovoltaic systems development, expert know-how in manufacturing materials and processes, and executive, technical and project management experience in both the energy and aerospace industries. He was VP-Manufacturing of Axel Johnson Engineering, President/GM of Phoenix Controls, VP/GM of Ebco Aerospace, VP-Manufacturing of Trinity Flywheel and EVP of Nova-Tech Engineering. His energy credentials include technical specialist participation in NSSS fuel manufacture, NPT handling and transport systems; manufacturing responsibility for hydroelectric turbines, large CW pumps and large specialty valves; and executive management responsibility for MV switchgear and related energy control systems.
Jeff Bloszies, CFO
Jeff is the former regional CFO of Vodafone Americas Inc., UK based Finance Executive of Vodafone Americas, Africa, India and China and CFO of Vodafone Satellite Services. Most recently Jeff was co-owner and CFO of Pulmor, Inc. which designs, manufactures and sells mobile solar power generators and recreational trailers. As a 26 year veteran finance leader, Jeff possesses extensive experience in finance operations, management of strategic investments, mergers and acquisitions and strategic planning. Jeff received his BA in Mathematics from Pomona College. He is also a 20 year college and high school football official.
Jack McDermott, SVP Transmission & Distribution
Jack retired in January, 2010 from PG&E after 30 years of service as the Senior Program Manager for all Solar and Wind generation interconnections within PG&E's Electric System Engineering Department. Prior to this, He served as the Senior Project Manager within PG&E's Generation Interconnection Services and was the established single point of contact for PG&E customers applying to interconnect Solar, Wind, Fuel Cell, Bio-Mass and Co- Generation Plants. He provided interconnection agreements, special facility contracts, and initial engineering reviews for public utility codes and utility compliance standards. Jack received his A.S. Degree in Solar Technology from Cabrillo College in Santa Cruz, California and B.S. in Organizational Behavior from USF in San Francisco. He is a 3 time Catalina 30 National Sailing Champion.
